YieldStar Sensor Integration Engineer at ASML in Taiwan - Job | LinkedIn
Introduction
ASML Linkou Factory is seeking a Physicist/Engineer integration and support for optical / photonic sensor systems used within ASML’s metrology tools. These systems typically include light sources, detectors, optical / electro-optical components, fiber optics, electronics and signal processing SW functioning in close collaboration with the rest of the tool. Understanding the components in their relation to the sensor system and understanding the interaction with the rest of the tool is of fundamental importance.
Job Description
Key component of this position are:oUsing general Physics, Electronics, and SW knowledge and understanding of the sensor systems and tool to integrate and de-bug new and existing sensors in the metrology systemoIntegrating newly designed sensor system in new and existing metrology toolsoSupporting systems in the factory and in the field, by being able to relate observed sensor anomalies to potential system defects. The majority of this work is done remotely at ASMLoProcessing large amounts of tool data to determine and isolate anomalous behavior oSetting up root cause analyses down to sensor component level starting from a system level issueoDeveloping and executing plans for investigating and resolving system and sensor level issuesoClearly communicating progress and status of ongoing investigationsoUnderstanding how the performance of the sensor system affects the performance of the overall lithography tool.oDeveloping alignment procedures and providing guidance to manufacturingoDeveloping test plans for system qualification and de-buggingTravel: Substantial travel (1 – 2 years to USA) initially required during a training phase.Nominal travel ( ~ 10%) to Europe, Asia, and within the US can be expected on a routine basis.
Education
Minimum: MS in Physics or other Engineering discipline, with an emphasis on optical system, electronics or SW design and analysis. PhD preferred.
Experience
oExperience in working with engineers across disciplines to develop reliable, robust systems. Strong emphasis on design for diagnostics / design for testability to maximize equipment availability.
Personal skills
oHave strong written and oral English communication skills and a commitment to achieving results on time;oBe able to break down complex problems with limited data to come to solutions – strong critical thinking capability; oBe willing to jump in on new issues, get to the bottom of the causes and propose practical solutions;oBe competent in and/or have affinity with: optical design and electro-optical devices, detection electronics, electrical and SW data processing;oA working knowledge of MatLab and/or Labview for data collection and analysis; oBe able to interface with multidisciplinary groups and work effectively in a team and be willing to take on responsibility, follow through and keep multiple simultaneous assignments on schedule; oBe able to quickly acquire technical knowledge from documentation and on-the-job training and be capable of thoroughly investigating technical issues (analytically and hands-on in a lab);
