Staff Design Engineer – EE
Location: Kalamazoo, MI
Responsible for design, development, testing, and refinement of
components and sub-systems in electrical engineering.
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and
procedures within the design specialization in the completion of difficult
assignments.
Demonstrates developing leadership qualities and may serve as
technical lead advisor to lower level personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and
procedures of Electrical/Electronic Engineering to the completion of difficult assignments.
Programming language, firmware experience a plus.
Design, development, testing & refinement of components and
sub-systems.
Strong knowledge in Analog and Digital Circuit design.
Experience with Firmware, Microcontroller and HDL (Verilog/VHDL) design
a plus but not a must have.
Conducts standard as well as non-standard tasks under close supervision
and guidance of more experienced staff.
Keeps supervisor informed regularly on status of work.
Development follows Invent It, Make It, Sell It procedures.
Usually works with general supervision, conferring with superior on
unusual matters. May be assisted by
Design Engineer.
Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity
and occasionally involve electro-mechanical projects
Has appreciable latitude for unreviewed action or decision.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering=
Requires a minimum of 5 years experience
Achieved a working (applying) industry knowledge in circuit design
(analog and digital), failure analysis and troubleshooting. Firmware experience
a plus
Viewed as inter-departmental resource in areas of expertise
Competent with a SW language like C, C++, Matlab, LabVIEW or similar
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Eagerness to assist internal and external customers
Possess attention to detail
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
