Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Translating requirements into design concepts. Designing, assembling, aligning, troubleshooting, and testing prototypes of single-molecule fluorescent imaging instruments.
• Writing test protocols, executing design validation tests, developing Quality Assurance protocols. Data analysis and presentation.
• Ownership of the development instrumentation, tracking of configuration changes, management data storage and annotation.
• Characterization and optimization of system performance and variability including, but not limited to, optical resolution, imaging SNR, automated imagining synchronization, electrophoresis.
• Developing subsystem and component specifications, and managing technical interactions with component vendors.
