Intermolecular, a leading innovative and fast-growing company, is looking for an experienced engineer to enable and drive automated process correlation, device characterization, ground-breaking analytical methods and data mining algorithms as software modules in the company’s cloud based R&D Informatics platform that handles scientific Big Data.
As a data scientist and lead engineer you will work closely with our process engineers, device engineers and scientists to solve technical problems, automate data analysis, data mining and visualization on the R&D Informatics system for a wide range of devices including DRAM, ReRAM, Logic, LED, PV, TFT, etc. You will have the unique opportunity to identify, define and implement novel differentiating algorithms and software functionalities. You should be inquisitive and passionate about learning and willing to undertake projects independently. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work closely with Process Engineers and Device Engineers to solve technical problems leveraging Intermolecular’s R&D Informatics platform
- Develop algorithms and software programs as value added modules in Informatics system to automate data analysis, data mining and visualization including correlation of materials, process, integration, and device inputs and outputs.
- Automate workflows for Design of Experiment (DOE) planning, test structure design for semiconductor process development
- Implement best practices, document protocols, and define standards
- Lead customer demos and technical evaluations
Desired Skills and Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree or PhD in EE/CS/Engineering/Physics with 8+ years of total work experience
- 5+ years of experience in developing software and algorithms
- 3+ years of experience in semiconductor or clean energy Industry with experience in process development, metrology and device characterization
- Strong knowledge of design of experiments (DOE), response surface methodology (RSM), process capability and other statistical analysis
- Experience in Scatterometry, optical metrology and APC techniques is desired
- Familiarity with labview, e-test automation and subsequent data analysis is a plus
- Deep experience in using analysis software such as SAS, JMP, R, or Matlab
- Skilled in object oriented programming languages such as C++ and Java
- Skilled in one or more scripting language like Python, PERL and JSL
- Skilled in database and SQL is a plus
- Skilled in managing and mining Big data is a plus
- Skilled in web development is a plus
