Community: Looking for Systems Engineer(LabVIEW) - National Instruments
We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to join Austin Consultants dynamic and expanding team in northern office based in the heart of Sheffield on permanent basis.
As a Systems Engineer, you'll be part of a team that is responsible for developing both hardware and software applications based on Object Oriented Technology and Event based Architectures primarily in the LabVIEW Programming Language and on the National Instruments Hardware Platforms.
Essential Skills:
• Strong understanding of LabVIEW, ideally CLD or equivalent with 3-5 years of software development of ATE’s
• An Understanding of object-oriented software design
• A good understanding of signal processing, digital filtering, complex sensors and control algorithms
• A good understanding of electronics, instrumentation and related hardware.
• Proven ability in delivering against project schedules and working to agreed deadlines and objectives.
• Commercial appreciation of business drivers and strategies and how projects align within this and customer centric approach to deliver solutions that meet the users requirements and specifications.
• Relevant degree
• Ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
Desirable Skills:
• Exposure to other languages such as Java,C or C++ would be advantageous
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Demonstrable skills in architecture design and Visual Basic scripts
Key Responsibilities:
1. Programming memory and speed efficient applications using LabVIEW and Object Oriented Programming and Event-based architectures.
2. Developing intuitive GUIs.
3. Selecting the correct measurement hardware for a given application based on a customer’s specification.
4. Providing timely, accurate and effective solutions to technical problems.
5. Providing guidance on the installation and working functionality of both software and hardware, including explanation of configuration settings.
6. Remaining aware of all competitive products and how they compare technically with Austin Consultants' core products.
7.Working with the business development team to develop proof of concepts for customers.
Note:
Must be available and happy to travel and work on customer sites around the UK.Should be eligible to work in the UK.
