Responsibilities:
- Understand product concepts, principles of operation, assembly, calibration, test procedures, and use the knowledge to troubleshoot root cause of yield loss in manufacturing of Sensing and Control products which includes optical, pressure and temperature sensors, flow control valves and associated control hardware and firmware.
- Apply SPC, DOE, Lean/Six Sigma(DMAIC), mathematics and statistics to solve complex manufacturing process problems
- Apply learning from existing products in new product release to conduct DFMEA and ensure release of products with acceptable yield levels.
- Act as Test Engineering representative in meeting with Engineering on New Product Release to translate Engineering specifications into Test Engineering requirements.
- Working closely with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, quality, test, and software engineers) to improve current design on all final product aspects.
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
- 1-3 years experience in sensor controls and mechanical assembly manufacturing environment
- Detail oriented with hands-on competence with sensors, electronic and mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to proficiently use fundamental electrical engineering lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, data-acquisition units, and PC-based software tools
- Experience with product testing, verification and documentation.
- Experience using sensors (pressure, temperature and flow) is required.
- Experience with serial digital communication (RS232 & RS485) and/or DeviceNet™ communication protocol a plus.
- Experience with the use of automated test systems (both software & hardware system components) for final product & circuit board assemblies is required. Examples are but not exclusive to National Instruments LabView and/or TestStand software, VB.NET, and Agilent Data Acquisition units.
- Highly self-motivated and self directed
