Control Engineer - LabVIEW Systems
TAE, based in South Orange County, is a unique company working in the area of energy research in association with local academia, national labs and an international consortium of institutions. We have an opening for a Control Engineer, LabVIEW Systems, who is responsible for designing, engineering and implementing National Instruments (NI) systems associated with distributed control, real time control, timing, and data acquisition systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for LabVIEW programming and HMI interfaces
Production, installation and commissioning of NI based systems
Integrated commissioning of the NI based systems
Documentation, operation and enhancement of NI based system
Liaison with other Engineers and Scientists to form requirements for NI based systems
Liaison with outside consultants and suppliers of NI based systems
Detailed design and specification of hardware, distributed IO and Infrastructure components
Detailed design of software structure and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)
Educational Requirements:
Required: B.S. Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
LabVIEW Certification (Certified LabVIEW Developer) preferred
Technical Experience Required:
National Instruments hardware, PXI, PXIe
National Instruments distributed IO (eRIO etc.)
National Instruments FPGA
Commissioning of network infrastructures
At least 2 years experience with large distributed control systems gained in an industrial or scientific environment.
Experienced in the operation and enhancement of industrial or scientific control systems
Interfacing with or design of scientific instruments or systems
Software Experience Required:
LabVIEW programming and development
Object Oriented and/or Actor-Framework programming
Experience interfacing with large database systems
Networking using Ethernet, EtherNet/IP, other industrial protocols
Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
Integrated control of high voltage or high current systems
Integrated control or acquisition of diagnostic systems
Interest in large science or R&D projects
