General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. Software Engineers conduct or participate in the research, design and development of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms. Responsibilities also include enhancements, modifications and corrections to existing software. In addition, these employees are responsible for coding, testing, integrating and documenting software solutions.

Responsibilities also include enhancements, modifications and corrections to existing software. In addition, these employees are responsible for coding, testing, integrating and documenting software solutions.
Candidate should have design knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Experienced programming in C++
- Knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW v8.0 or higher, or a willingness to learn LabVIEW. National Instruments Developer Certification is a plus.
- Various system software control architectures
- Developing operational and testing software applications for COTS and custom built devices
- Interpreting system requirements and testing software modules to verify results meet requirments
- Candidate should be able to work independently within a small team
- Development of mission critical operational control software modules
- Provide troubleshooting support for the control software
- Generate detailed software documentation describing the developed modules
- Review software module source code and participate in code peer reviews
- Perform engineering development efforts in accordance with GD common process policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of software systems and applications, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems software solutions.
The Software Engineer position requires a bachelors degree in a specialized area or equivalent field and two to five years of related experience; or masters degree and zero to two years of related experience.
TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidate must be able to obtain a Polygraph clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
